Fuel Assistance Helps Pay Heating Bills
Coan Oil is once again participating in Fuel Assistance programs to help elderly and low-income residents stay warm this winter. The agencies listed below are local administrators for the federal Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP).
Residents apply to their local agency, and the agency pays the costs for some fuel deliveries. The agencies might also be able to help with the costs of system repairs and building weatherization.
The state Executive Office of Housing and Economic Development oversees LIHEAP programs in Massachusetts and operates the Cold Relief Heatline at 800-632-8175. Visit the Cold Relief Information web page at www.massgov to learn more. The Cold Relief Heatline helps callers find out how to apply for LIHEAP, Weatherization (WAP), and the Heating System Repair and Replacement Program (HEARTWAP). The LIHEAP Application also serves as an application for the Weatherization program and HEARTWAP.
